Trade Secrets

A trade secret is any information that derives value from being not generally known or readily ascertainable, and is the subject of efforts that are reasonable under the circumstances to maintain its secrecy.  In business, information generally has value, so almost any business information which is kept secret is a "trade secret".

Proper business strategies for trade secrets involve (a) making sure to keep the secrets; and (b) avoiding use of the trade secrets of others.
